Figures moving under the rain...
I see glowing streetlights, blurring the pain.
Children on the corner,
Staring as I drive away,
Hand prints on the window -
They all fade to gray.

Have you ever seen a shadow?
Have you ever known what they know?
Have you ever seen a shadow,
And left one behind?

Shifting, changing, never the same,
And the cold wind wonders how they became.
Wishing for an answer,
Hoping one day it'll change,
Praying for the flesh and the blood to fill them.
